A Celebration of Life for Steve Gonzales, 58, was held at 3:00 P.M. Sunday, June 24, 2012 in Douglas, Wyoming.
Steve Gonzales a lifelong resident of Douglas died Sunday, June 17, 2012 at his home.
He was born August 14, 1953 in Douglas, Wyoming the son of Jose Don and Emma (Martinez) Gonzales. Steve was raised and educated in Douglas, graduating from Douglas High School in 1971. Following graduation he moved to Lead, South Dakota to work at the Homestake Gold Mine. He returned to Wyoming and worked in the oilfields for several years. Later in life he did yard work and trimmed trees around Douglas. He also took care of his mom, Emma.
He was married to Nancy Moore in January, 1982 in Rapid City, South Dakota, and to this union one son, DJ, was born. He always cherished his time he spent with DJ. He enjoyed going to Natural Bridge and the mountains to fish. Some of the best times he had were sitting around with family and friends telling stories and enjoying themselves. He always had time to play with his with his nieces and nephews. Steve lived his life on his own terms.
He was survived by his son, DJ Gonzales and his fianceβ Callie Hubbard and her son, William Lewis all of Casper; sisters, Rita (Joe) Burkholder of Douglas and Rosie (Butch) Hill of Casper, Wyoming; brother, Ron Gonzales of Douglas; nieces, Nichole, Taby, and Paisley; and nephews, Ronnie, Kalen, Sherman, Talon, Cyrus, and Stevee.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jose, on March 2, 1998 and his mother, Emma, on January 13, 2011.
The Gorman Funeral Homes β Converse Chapel of Douglas is in charge of the arrangements.
