Frank Rohrer died peacefully Saturday, July 7, 2012 at the Douglas Care Center in Douglas after a short illness.  He was born November 1, 1915 in Winnetoon, Nebraska to Frank A. and Evaline (Hart) Rohrer.  His father died in a accident when Frank was five years old.  He spent most of his younger years in Nebraska and came to Wyoming after his mother remarried.  He had two brothers, Wayland and Dean Young and one sister Janice Lenzen.  He met Elsie DeWitt and they were married on May 4, 1936 in Harrison, Nebraska.  To this union nine children were born, eight boys and one girl.  In the early years of their marriage they lived in Colorado and a short time in McCook, Nebraska where Frank helped build the airport there.  They returned to Wyoming where Frank worked at various jobs, finally settling in Douglas.  Frank started working for the Wyoming State Highway Department in 1951 on the road and maintenance crew and retired after thirty years as supervisor.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards, dancing, traveling, watching football and especially watching Colorado Rockies baseball.  He was a member of the Douglas Moose Lodge #602 for many years.  He enjoyed going to his grandsons baseball games and spending time visiting his children and grandchildren in different parts of the state and out of state.  He was proud of all of his children and the lives they made for themselves and kept track of all of his many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.  He was a special person and greatly loved by his family and will be missed by all of his family and friends.
Frank is survived by his children, Bob (Pat) Rohrer of Casper, Wyoming, Dick (Doris) Rohrer of Evansville, Wyoming, Frankie (Peggy) Rohrer of Lovell, Wyoming, Joe (Kathy) Rohrer of Atlanta, Georgia, Garry (Terry) Rohrer of Roosevelt, Utah, Jim (Debbie) Rohrer   of Douglas, Bill (Tammy) Rohrer of Worland, and Darlene (Roger) McFadden of Douglas; daughter-in-law, Starla (Louis) Rohrer of Douglas; thirty six grandchildren; sixty three great grandchildren; eleven great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
