A private family service will be held for George Vernard Smith at a later date.
George died Friday, April 27, 2012 at the Platte County Memorial Hospital in Wheatland, Wyoming.
George was born March 7, 1927in Hartville, Wyoming the son of James William and Virginia (McCully) Smith Sr.
The family moved to New Mexico. He graduated from high school in New Mexico. He worked as a truck driver. In 1984 following retirement he returned to Guernsey, Wyoming. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, ranch work, and having a pet dog.
He is survived by his nieces, nephews, and good friend Mary Ann Harvey of Guernsey.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Virginia; sister, Shirley; and brothers, Robert Smith and James W. Smith Jr.
