On Monday, July 2, 2012, Sondra Plumb passed away in her home and went to be with the Lord.
Sondra Kay Gilliland was born June 10, 1940 in Sigourney, Iowa.  She is the daughter of Cloyce and Dorothy (McIntosh) Gilliland.  In 1952, the family relocated to Worland, Wyoming and she attended school there.
On September 14, 1957 she married her lifelong love Ronald Plumb in Worland, Wyoming.  They were married for 54 years.  In 1962, they moved to Douglas to raise their family.
Sondra was a secretary for Converse County School District #1 for 25 years.  She retired in 1995 to enjoy traveling with her husband.  They enjoyed half the year in Douglas, Wyoming and half the year in Casa Grande, Arizona.
Sondra was a member of the Douglas Sorority, was a guardian of Job’s Daughters, was a Moose member, and started the local chapter of the “Jubilant Jackalope Red Hatters”.
She is survived by her husband Ronald Plumb of Douglas, Wyoming.  Their happy union created three wonderful sons: Brian (Jean) Plumb, Brent (Lorri) Plumb, and Gary (Lynn) Plumb all of Douglas, Wyoming.  She has two sisters: Sadella Golen of Casper, Wyoming and Barbara (Scott) Lockwood of Kellar, Texas.  She has a multitude of grandchildren who loved her very much.  They are Dustin (Amy) Plumb, Jennifer (Brent) Fiscus, Chase (Calley) Plumb, Jerad (Nichol) Williams, Chad Plumb, Chrystyna Williams, Randi Plumb, Dalton Cheever, Andrew (Suzanne) Plumb, Charlie (Jennifer) Plumb, and Tanner Jennison.  She has nine great-grandchildren who brought her such joy.  She was also very loved by her nephews David (Richele) Golen and Christopher (Antonine) Brosious.
Besides a very large close family Sondra was also loved by many dear friends.  They are too numerous to mention but all deeply loved and appreciated.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Monday, July 9, 2012 at the Congregational United Church of Christ in Douglas, Wyoming with Reverend Joe Bair officiating.  Inurnment will be in the Douglas Park Cemetery.
A memorial to Amedisys Hospice of Casper, 907 North Poplar Street, Casper, Wyoming 82601 would be appreciated by the family.

Dear Ron, Sons and Families, Sadella & Barbara, I met Sadella in Worland (she played percussion in the band), I met Barbara in Douglas when her son wrestled with my sons. I met Ron and then realized who his wife was and what a wonderful history I have had with the Gilliland sisters, their kids and with the Plumbs. I am sad that you will have to be separated from your wife, mother & sister for a time. You have her wonderful memories of all she was and all she did. Then each one of you, in your time, will meet her again! Happy reunion; no sickness, sadness or troubles, just JOY! Thanks for all of your places in my life and my children's lives. Keep on keeping on. There is joy in the mourning. God is with each you. Sincerely, Val

I was so sorry to read of the passing of Mrs. Plumb. I remember her fondly as the school secretary, for her work with Job's Daughters and for being my classmates mother. What a sweet woman she was. I am sure she will be missed by many.
Praying for you all.

I just happened across the announcement of Sondra's dealth and just wanted to pass along to you how special she was to me and to my Mom, Marilyn Nauman. I love her and she was always so very kind to me. We shared many "dieting" stories as we were always wanting to lose weight. Thinking of you and hoping your wonderful family memories will comfort you!
