Norma O’Brien died Monday, June 26, 2017 at the Shepherd of the Valley Healthcare Center in Casper, Wyoming.
Norma was born Thursday, July 28, 1932 in Broadwater, Nebraska the second child of Eugene Jeff and Nellie Melvina (Morton) Bray.
She grew up in Nebraska and Wyoming, graduating in 1950 from Natrona County High School in Casper, Wyoming.  She married Tommy O’Brien on April 7, 1950 in Newcastle, Wyoming, and they were married 49 years until his death in 1999. They had four children, living in Glenrock the entire time except for two years in Kaycee, Wyoming. Norma graduated from Casper College in 1970 with an LPN degree and then worked at Natrona County Hospital for several years, with most of that  in the ER triage area.  She also worked about two years for Pediatrician Dr. Harlan Myers.  Norma made many friends wherever she worked and treasured those friendships always.  Many antics in the ER were instigated by this white hair lady, sometimes seen wearing a sombrero.  She had a wide variety of interests including any craft project that someone might suggest, cross country skiing, shopping, traveling to visit close friends and family.  She especially treasured times spent with her family.  Norma was a great fan of her husband’s bowling and softball games, all of her children's activities, and was her own Mother’s caregiver in her last years.
She is survived by her children, Pat (Gene) Townsend of Three Forks, Montana, Shannon (Butch) Bratsky of Billings, Montana, Penny O”Brien of Douglas, and Mike (JoAnn) O’Brien of Douglas; siblings, Bonnie Williams of Casper, Bob (Ann) Bray of Menifee, California, and Allen (Julie) Bray of Riverside, California; ten grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Thomas C. “Tommy” O’Brien, on May 3, 1999; and brothers, Everett Bray and Bill Bray.

My heart is heavy with sadness and sorrow... I have reflected on all the many memories Norma and I have shared over the past 40+ years, far too many to include here. But remembering her and Tommy and all those memories has brought a smile to face... Love always, Pam
