Funeral services for Helen Lucille Steeley, 89, will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Douglas, Wyoming with Pastor Jakob Berger officiating.  Interment will be in the Douglas Park Cemetery.
Helen Steeley died Saturday, September 9, 2017 at the Steeley farm home near Douglas surrounded by her loving family.
Helen was born Saturday, January 21, 1928 in Pierce, Colorado the daughter of Jake and Mary (Siebel) Dietz.  She was raised and educated in Wheatland.  She was married to Wilbur G. Steeley on November 28, 1948 in Wheatland.  They resided in the Wheatland area farming until moving to Douglas in 1956 to continue their farming operation.  
She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church, and through the years, enjoyed times of teaching Sunday School and participating in the Ladies Aide.
Helen had a servant’s heart which was manifested in hospitality, sharing, and helping others in their time of need.
She enjoyed sewing, working in her vegetable and flower garden, raising chickens, and working on the farm alongside her family.
She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Wilbur, of Douglas; children, Larry Steeley of Douglas, Gerald Steeley of Casper, Wyoming, Susan (Blake) Hollon of Douglas, and Anna and David of Fort Worth, Texas; sister, Maryann Kern of Laramie, Wyoming; brothers, Leonard Dietz of Laramie and Arnie (Dorothy) Dietz of Sterling, Colorado; and Erin Johnson and her children, Braden, Kaylee, and Gracie.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Melvin Dietz and William “Dempsey” Dietz; and sister, Caroline Irving.
Serving as pallbearers will be Cowboy Hildebrand, Dennis Dickau, James Strock, and Bob Shinmori.        
Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday, September 12 from 1:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. and on Wednesday, September 13 from 9:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M..
A memorial to the Central Wyoming Hospice Home, 319 South Wilson Street, Casper, Wyoming 82601 or to the Alzheimer’s Foundation-Wyoming Chapter, P.O. Box 1493, Casper, Wyoming 82602 would be appreciated by the family.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you. I remember seeing her at Douglas Grocery doing her shopping. So good that she was able to stay at the farm and enjoy the things she liked. Cherish the memories!
