Catherine Sue Evans went to be with the Lord on Tuesday,  April 2, 2024.

She was born on Friday, October 29, 1954 to Betty (Bowman) and Jack Eddleman. She was the youngest of three children. She graduated from Wheatland High School in 1973. During high school she worked at Jack and Jill (Thrifty Foods), which led her to meet the love of her life, David "Dave" Evans. With plans to attend the University of Wyoming to become a teacher, Cathy chose to accept David’s marriage proposal and they eloped to South Dakota on July 9, 1973. The couple proudly celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 2023.

Cathy was an ambitious woman who proudly helped David open Dave’s Auto Body which they operated for over 40 years. Dave and Cathy welcomed their sons, Michael James and Matthew David in 1978. When her boys turned five, she was asked to work at Libbey Elementary as a teacher’s assistant where she remained until her retirement. Cathy also enjoyed working at the nursing home where she took care of countless people in the community.

She enjoyed gardening, cross-stitching, quilting, and reading. In their retirement, Dave and Cathy had a beautiful vegetable and flower garden. Cathy made several quilts during this time. They also enjoyed visits from their great-grandchildren. Cathy and her dog, Little Bit, went for walks frequently. She also enjoyed going to lunch with her dear friends. She was always behind the camera to capture the memories through our lives.

Anyone that knew Cathy knew they had a friend. Cathy's passing leaves behind a profound void in the hearts of all who knew her. Known for her unparalleled kindness and unwavering friendliness, Cathy brightened every room she entered with her warm smile and genuine compassion. Her innate ability to uplift others, coupled with her generous spirit, made her a cherished friend to many within her community. Whether through a comforting embrace or a thoughtful gesture, Cathy touched the lives of countless individuals, leaving behind a legacy of love and compassion that will forever be remembered and cherished.

Cathy was preceded in death by her parents, Betty and Jack; her in-laws, Clarence and Winnie; brother, Terry; sister, Nancy, and nephew, Casey.

She is survived by her husband, Dave; sons, Michael and Matthew; grandchildren, Catherine Evans (Cody Benton), Madison (Jayson) Tretter, Shaeleigh Evans, Jolie Evans, and Brayden Evans; great-grandchildren, Kennedy, Carly, Luke, and River; numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
