ROBERT "ROBBIE" DUNCAN JR. Obituary

Robert “Robbie’ William Duncan, Jr., 84, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, April 2nd, 2024 at his home in Douglas, Wyoming. He was born on Wednesday, June 7th, 1939 in Louisville, Kentucky to Jane Irvine (Moore) and Robert William Duncan.

He was proceeded in death by his mother in 1969, his younger brother Irvine Moore Duncan in 1977, his father; son, Robert William Duncan III; and daughter, Fon Diane McConnell.

After graduating from high school in Sheridan, Wyoming Robbie attended flight school. He began his professional career as a spray pilot in Sheridan, Wyoming before moving on to drop smoke jumpers and slurry, which he did for many years. Robbie met Patricia Ann (Larvey) Littleton in Idaho City, Idaho during this time and they were married on May 12th, 1969.

Robbie flew for Evergreen Airlines and Continental Airlines for a while. He flew cargo from Miami to Puerto Rico and Haiti because he enjoyed flying DC-3 planes so much. He returned to dropping smoke jumpers. Robbie and Pat moved to McCall, Idaho where he began managing the airport and flying people into the backcountry. While in Idaho he received many accolades for his exemplary flight safety record.

After leaving McCall, Robbie and Pat became avid Harley Davidson fans and had many adventures on their extensive travels. They rode from coast to coast as well as from Mexico to Canada and enjoyed attending bike rallies such as Sturgis when they had the opportunity. He put over a million miles on his bike.

They moved from Aho, Arizona back to Wyoming following the completion of their home in Douglas. Upon returning, Robbie continued to be an active member of the flight community by doing check rides and serving as a board member on the Converse County Airport Board. He was reappointed to the board in 2021.

Robbie is survived by his wife, Pat Duncan; two children; and three grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held at a later date.

The Gorman Funeral Homes-Converse Chapel of Douglas, Wyoming is in charge of the arrangements.
