Dirk Neverve, 54 of Douglas, Wyoming passed away from a massive heart attack on Tuesday September 4th, 2018.
Dirk was born Saturday, May 7, 1964 in Wheat Ridge, Colorado to John and Carol Neverve. He graduated from Ogallala High School in Ogallala, Nebraska and from the University of Wyoming in Laramie with a BS in Electrical Engineering. He was employed by Texas Instruments in Colorado Springs, Colorado before relocating with Raytheon Deutschland, to Freising, Germany. He attended high school with his future wife, Jodi (Stewart) Neverve. While in Germany they met after not seeing one another for nine years then married in Karlstejn, Czech Republic October 1, 1994. They resided in Germany until buying the KOA campground in Douglas, Wyoming in 2004. Dirk retired from Raytheon in September of 2008 and then joined Jodi to live and work the rest of his days on the campground.
Dirk was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved football, basketball, cards and game playing. His love and passion were the mountains where he and Jodi purchased land in La Bonte Creek in the Medicine Bow National Forest where they hoped to retire one day in their dream log home. Dirk was known for his gentle, soft-spoken, hardworking, caring, compassionate and self-less nature. Young and old alike loved him because he had that wonderful, unique ability to make everyone feel special. He sought out each individual at family and work gatherings and would make you feel special like you were the only one in the room and that you truly mattered. He was like a son to those who were older, a father figure to those who needed one, and a favorite amongst siblings. His family, including his many nieces and nephews, employees and colleagues respected and adored him and are heartbroken to have lost him so early. He will be sorely missed by everyone who knew and loved him.
Dirk was preceded in death by his father, Jack Neverve; brother-in-law, Russ Falotico;  nephew, Mike Petersen; and mother-in-law, Faylene Stewart.
Survivors include his wife Jodi, mother, Carol Neverve of Fruita, Colorado; sisters, Shelli (Doug) Petersen of Woodland Park, Colorado and Lisa (Troy) David of Grand Junction, Colorado; brother, Doug (Kathy) Neverve of Big Springs, Nebraska; father-in-law, Cameron Stewart of Ogallala, Nebraska; sisters-in-law, Gwen (Dave) McQuisten of Ogallala, Nebraska and Lynndi Falotico of Greeley, Colorado; brother-in-law, Garon (Sherri) Stewart of Ogallala, Nebraska; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A private family ceremony will be held the morning of Saturday, October 13, 2018 at their mountain property followed by an open reception to all friends in the afternoon. Please visit the Gorman Funeral web page at gormanfh.com or call the KOA office for more details. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to P.O.
