DOUGLAS EDELMAN Obituary

Funeral services for Douglas Ray Edelman, 65, will be held at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, March 20, 2019 at the Fort Reno Building at the Wyoming State Fairgrounds in Douglas, Wyoming with Pastor Rich Cullen of the Northside Church of Douglas Assembly of God.  Interment will be in the Douglas Park Cemetery.
Douglas Ray Edelman joined his Lord and Savior, Friday March 15th in the presence of his family.
Doug was born on Tuesday, December 8th, 1953 to Wayne Arnold Edelman and Barbara Ann (Finney) Edelman in Valentine, Nebraska.  He was raised in the Sand Hills of Nebraska and the entire state of Wyoming. He married the Love of His Life, Debbra Kay (Coons) Edelman on August 4th, 1973 in Midwest, Wyoming.  Together they traveled the country, and after a brief enlistment in the United States Army, they followed Doug’s career in the oilfield. To this union, they were blessed with four children, Brandy, Christopher, Tiffany, and Daniel.
Doug worked many different jobs in the oilfield, working for Northern Plains Trucking at the time of his passing. He said that he loved his job and those he worked with.  He never met a stranger, many times turning a quick trip to the grocery store into an hours long endeavor. Doug was always willing to help anyone in need, especially if he heard of anyone struggling with providing themselves or a family with food.  Many times, emptying his and Deb’s freezer and cupboard. No matter the situation, you could always count on Doug to be there.
His faith in the Lord was un-matched. He believed in finding the best in everyone and always encouraged those he came across to be the best they could be and to be of service to others.  Doug always believed in paying it forward.  Doug was honest to a fault and always made sure you knew where he stood.  He was loving, courageous, honest, and faithful.  His family meant everything to him and if you had a spare minute, he would share, with pride, the accomplishments of his wife, children, grandchildren, and friends. He was always one of the most enthusiastic at a game, concert or play much to the embarrassment of who he had come to see and those he sat with.  He loved his family fiercely, with every ounce of his being.  No matter what.
Doug is survived by his wife of forty-five and a half years, Debbra, his four children; Brandy Cecil (Tim Chestnut), Christopher Edelman, Tiffany Black (Tim Black), and Daniel Edelman (Christine Kirby); fifteen grandchildren, Austyn, Ally, Sara, Colter, Carlie, Sierra, Kanyon, Katelynn, Carson, Lainey, Noel, Emily, Alex, Lacey, and Tyler; seven siblings, Dale Finney (Sandy), Rod Edelman (Vicki), Cindy Sutherland (Tracy), Barbara Damon (Scott Mors), Gerald Edelman (Jacquie), James Edelman (Brenda), and Donald Edelman (Kym); and sister-in-law Laura Edelman. He also had many bonus kids, grandkids and great-grand kids.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Dennis; and grandson, Dustin.
Pallbearers will be Christopher Edelman, Daniel Edelman, Timothy Black, Gerald Edelman, James Edelman, Donald Edelman, Tracy Sutherland, and Michael Hollenback. Honorary pallbearers will be Dale Finney, Rodney Edelman, Colter Buchli, Austyn Matthews, Kanyon Cecil, Alexander Edelman, and Tyler Fugate.
