Doyle L. Petrey Jr. passed away on Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at the Rapid City Regional Hospital in Rapid City, South Dakota with his family by his side. Doyle had a devasting fall on Friday, November 9, 2018 in Spearfish, South Dakota.
Doyle was born November 23, 1954 in Lubbock, Texas the son of Doyle L. and April (Dunn) Petrey Sr.
Doyle was married to Debbra for 47 years. They were married on September 6, 1972 in Odessa, Texas. Doyle worked in the oilfields in the United States and ten years overseas in Kuwait and Saudi Arabia. He worked for the Millwright Union for ten years, and then worked as a truck driver traveling across the United States. Doyle was a school activities bus driver and it was one of his favorite jobs. He always considered all the kids his own and kept them safe no matter what. He had said several times he would have given his own life for them. His last job was at Lock Trucking. Which Doyle enjoyed working for them. Very nice family owned company.
Doyle was a very intelligent man. He loved doing daily crossword puzzles with a pen. He enjoyed riding his bike which he named “Sister Sara” she was a 1990 Fatboy he put together himself. In is off time he loved to fish and hunt with his family and friends. Doyle made crucifixes from horse shoe nails. He would give them to random people crossing his path.
Doyle’s family would like to thank all the family and friends for the support and caring remarks. He made a lot of friends through the years.
He is survived by his wife, Debbra Petrey of Wheatland; children, Damon (Heather) Petrey of Olathe, Kansas and Corrina Michon of Omaha, Nebraska; mother, April Petrey of Reno, Nevada; grandchildren, Daton Petrey, Ronnie Michon, Kayleigh Petrey, and Isabella Petrey; brother, Lane Petrey of Odessa; son-in-law, Rick Michon of Douglas, Wyoming; several aunts, uncles, and cousins; and four other kids, 2 dogs, a cat, and a pot belly pig. They will all miss him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his father; paternal grandparents, Henry and Lessie Petrey; and maternal grandparents, Robert and Myrtle Dunn.
A memorial fund to the Doyle Petrey Benefit in Care of Wells Fargo; 874 Gilchrist Street, Wheatland, Wyoming 82201 for his four loving grandchildren that he loved so much would be appreciated by the family.
No service will be held at this time. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
