JOHN VERNON McGUIRE

A funeral service for John Vernon McGuire, 46, will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, August 30, 2011 at the First United Methodist Church in Chugwater, Wyoming with Pastor Tom Strock of the First Baptist Church in Lusk, Wyoming officiating.  
John McGuire a resident of Chugwater died Friday, August 26, 2011 at the Platte County Memorial Hospital in Wheatland, Wyoming after a hard fought battle with illness.
John was born November 16, 1964 in Wheatland to James Raymond and La Verne Dee (Blodgett) McGuire.  He attended school on Chugwater and Wheatland and graduated from Laramie Community College Automotive Technology Program in Cheyenne, Wyoming.  He worked as a brick Mason for H.F. Johnson Masonry in Cheyenne for a number of years and was a top notch auto mechanic.  He worked at ranching, Tri-County Grain Elevator, trucking and landscaping but, his love was working on his various hot rods and pick-ups.
John married Tracy Knisley of Wheatland in June 1985.  They had two sons Joshua Michael and Mark Jacob.  He was a loving father and family man who had a huge heart and a wonderful soul.  He loved being around his family and many friends.
John is survived by his sons, Mark and Josh and Kristin Cain and granddaughter Raylie of Torrington, Wyoming; his mother and father of Chugwater; grandmother Violet Blodgett of Wheatland; sister Cheryl Robinson of Wheatland; brother David of Chugwater; nephews, Milton Mosley and family and Rusty  McGuire and Victoria; niece Sarah Mosley, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
John was preceded in death by paternal grandparents James H. and Marcella A. (Kernan) McGuire, and maternal grandfather Vernon G. Blodgett.
John will be greatly missed by anyone and everyone who knew him as he touched so many lives while he was on this earth. We will miss you J-Rodd!
Serving as pallbearers will be Josh McGuire, Dave McGuire, Mark McGuire, Bob Mosley, Milt Mosley, Eddie Fisher, and Stacy Whinery.
Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 10:00 A.M. to 7:00 P.M. and on Tuesday from 9:00 A.M. to 12 Noon.
A memorial to the John V. McGuire Memorial Fund in care of the First State Bank, P.O. Box 39, Wheatland, Wyoming 82201 would be appreciated by the family.
