A funeral liturgy will be held for Joseph Owen Foy, 95, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Glendo, Wyoming at 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, August 13, 2019 with Father Demetrio Penascoza as the Celebrant and Joe Foy as the eulogist. The Vigil for the Deceased will begin at 10:00 A.M. Inurnment will be in the family plot at the Horseshoe Cemetery near Glendo.
Joe Foy died Friday, July 19, 2019 in San Pedro, California.
Joe was born and raised on the Foy Ranch west of Glendo. He was born on Sunday, December 9, 1923 the son of Edward Foy Sr. and Rose Bridget (Ferguson) Foy. He attended country school on the ranch and Saint Patrick’s Academy in Sidney, Nebraska. He proudly served in the United States Navy during World War II. Joe graduated from Creighton University School of Pharmacy and lived in San Pedro for 60 plus years, where he owned and operated South Shore Drug until his retirement.
He was a man of great humor, generosity, and kindness. Joe was dearly loved by family and friends. He loved family, travel, and horse racing.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ed, on September 27, 1972; mother, Rose, on March 23, 1980; and brothers, Edward Foy, Phillip Foy, and Leo Foy.
Joe is survived by many nieces and nephews and sister-in-law, Josephine Foy.
