LARRY DAVEY SR. Obituary

Memorial services for Larry Flynn Davey, 78, will be held at 1:00 P.M., Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at the Episcopal Church of Our Saviour in Hartville, Wyoming with The Reverend Bill Walker officiating.  Inurnment will be in the Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis, South Dakota with military honors accorded by the United States Marine Corps Military Honors at 1:00 Thursday, January 3, 2019.

Larry Flynn Davey, a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather passed away on Friday, December 21, 2018 at his home in Guernsey, Wyoming.  Larry, the son of Everett and Bonnie (Bomgardner) Davey was born November 25, 1940 in Denver, Colorado.

After graduating from Cheyenne Central High School in 1959 he attended Georgia Tech University prior to enlisting in the United States Marine Corps in 1960.  While serving in the Corps he participated in Operation Shu-Fly in DaNang, South Vietnam in 1964.  He later returned to DaNang, Vietnam in 1968 for Counter Insurgency.

While in the Marine Corps he married Vera Wilson in 1963.  They had one child, Larry Davey Jr., who was born on May 28, 1964 in Garden Grove, California.

In 1980 he married Sandra Lee (Davy) Walker in Guernsey, Wyoming.  In 1984 he enlisted in the Wyoming National Guard.  He spent the next sixteen years serving as an Electronic Technician at Camp Guernsey.  He retired in 2000.

Larry is survived by his son, Larry Davey Jr., step son, Steve Walker (Mariah), and sister Kay Swindell (Al);  ten grandchildren, Ashley Jensen (DaRon) and Andrew Jensen (Lauren), Shilo Barnes (Jerry), Tyler Walker (Tayler), Brittany Bares (Kyle), Danielle DeLaRosa (Fabian), Shawna Orban (John), Jade Davey, Sydney Davey, and Riley Davey, and seven great grandchildren, Aaliyah, Abel, Phoenix, Mya, Braylen, Blakelee, and Peter.  Larry is loved by many extended family members and friends.  
Larry was preceded in death by his wife, Sandy, on September 22, 2015; his parents; and his brother, Jerry.
