LESLIE GRANTHAM Obituary
Funeral services Leslie Dale “Les” Grantham, 86, will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, April 12, 2019 at the Gorman Funeral Homes-Converse Chapel in Douglas, Wyoming with Pastor Tim Ricker of the Frontier Baptist Church in Douglas officiating. Interment will be in the Douglas Park Cemetery.
Les Grantham died Saturday, April 6, 2019 at the Douglas Care Center in Douglas.
Les was born Saturday, December 31, 1932 in Crookston, Cherry County, Nebraska the son of Noah and Viva May (Rogers) Grantham. He was raised and educated in Cherry County, where he graduated from high school. In his younger years her worked as truck driver, diesel mechanic, and also drove the school bus. He was married to Edith “Nadine” (Ireland) Wisser on January 23, 1975 in Douglas. They left Douglas for a short time and returned in 1978 where he resided until the time of his death. He retired as a custodian working at the Converse County Courthouse in Douglas.
Les enjoyed fishing, wood working in his shed, and singing and playing his guitar with Nadine, who he was greatly devoted to. His personality was happy go lucky always with a smile.
He is survived by his children, Kenneth Wisser of Phoenix, Arizona, David (Leona) Wisser of Douglas, Lisa (Rod) Waldo of Vancouver, Washington, Daniel (Melinda) Wisser of El Dorado Springs, Missouri, and Rebecca Grantham of California; sister, Elva Jo Glassmeyer of Denver, Colorado; 11 grandchildren; and 23 great grandchildren.
Les was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 43 years, Nadine Grantham, on December 15, 2017; daughter, Belynda May Grantham, in August, 1982; and brother, James Peterson.
A memorial to the Douglas Senior Citizens Center, P.O. Box 192, Douglas, Wyoming 82633 would be appreciated by the family.
Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M.
