LUDY MOSS Obituary

A funeral service for Ludy Mae Moss, 78, will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, January 28, 2012 at the Community Baptist Church in Glenrock, Wyoming with Pastor Rick Bishop officiating.  Interment will be in the Glenrock Cemetery.
Ludy Moss went to join our Father in Heaven on Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at the Shepherd of the Valley Care Center in Casper, Wyoming.
Ludy was born May 15, 1933 on the Harry Stevick Ranch near Verse, Wyoming in northern Converse County the daughter of George Kendall and Maggie Mae (Young) Coalson.
Ludy married Robert Moss on January 15, 1952, and this union ended in divorce on June 16, 1958.  Ludy later married David Austin on September 24, 1977, and this union ended in March, 1980.
Ludy was a loving hardworking mother to her brood of six.  She would bake fresh bread once a week and all the kids would come home from school for a fine lunch of fresh bread hot from the oven.  She canned and froze food to store for the future and made lots of jellies and jams.  Every Sunday she herded her little flock to church and after church they would help her make ice cream for a special Sunday treat.
Ludy worked at several restaurants in Glenrock usually washing dishes to single handedly provide for her children.  She made sure they had band and sports uniforms and equipment.  She went to class and studied to complete her G.E.D., and getting the last of the five boys through high school and seeing them graduate.  The fact that Karol attended college, Darold WYO Tech, and Milton and Richard joined the United States Army were some of her proudest moments.
She loved all types of crafts and spent many long hours making lovely gifts for friends and family, and each new couple received embroidered tea towels for wedding gifts.
Her favorite holiday was Christmas she would start shopping right after Christmas and even with her limited budget find the perfect gift for each and every child, grandchild, friends, and relatives on her list.  She had a knack of coming to visit each home and finding something that household needed and it would be wrapped and ready by Christmas.
Ludy was an avid collector of many treasures her biggest treasure was her thousands of pairs of salt and pepper shakers.
Ludy’s greatest love of all was her family and dear friends.  Ludy was loved by everyone who ever knew her.
Ludy was initiated into the Glenella Rebekah Lodge #41 on March 15, 1978.  Ludy was very proud to be a member of this grand lodge.  She held many offices and worked very hard to keep the Rebekah Lodge going here in Glenrock.
Ludy is survived by four sons and one daughter, Darold (Sandy) Moss of Glenrock, Karol (Ken) Gaskill of Amherst, Colorado, George (Barbara) Moss of Savery, Wyoming, Richard (Angie) Moss of Mt. Lake Terrace, Washington, and John (Darbie) Moss of Gillette, Wyoming; her dear sister, Margaret (Jeff) Stewart of Glenrock; and many, many nephews and nieces.  She is the grandmother of 15, great grandmother of 26, and great-great grandma of one.
Ludy was preceded in death by her father, George Coalson; mother, Maggie Mae Cunningham; two brothers, Darold Johnson and Ray Johnson; her son Milton Ira Moss; and great-great grandson, Damian Knuth-Sauls.
A memorial to the Glenrock Senior Citizens Center, P.O. Box 783, Glenrock, Wyoming 82637 would be appreciated by the family.
