ROSMARIE JUNE (BRINKMAN) ZAHROWSKI

Funeral services will be held for Rosmarie June Zahrowski, 92, at 2:00 P.M. Monday, June 17, 2019 at the Gorman Funeral Homes-Converse Chapel in Douglas, Wyoming with Pastor Jeremy Paradowski of the Douglas Baptist Church officiating.  Inurnment will be in October, 2019 at Hillsview Cemetery in Isabel, South Dakota.

Rosmarie Zahrowski went home to her Lord and Savior at 5:05 P.M. on Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at the Douglas Care Center in Douglas, Wyoming.

She was born Friday, November 19, 1926 Burnstad, North Dakota the daughter of Fred Herman and Alvina (Straub) Brinkman.  She had two sisters and one brother.  As a young girl she lived in the Glad Valley area.  Her schooling was in country schools and in Isabel. 

She married the love of her life, Alex David Zahrowski on November 25, 1942 in Dupree, South Dakota.  Their first home was a sheep wagon out on the prairie.  Alex was known to frequently pull her vehicle out of the gullies, as she drove only one speed-fast.  In the early years they live in many places.  Isabel became their final home in 1959.  Starting in 1944 they stared their family of four boys and four girls, Gloria, Larry, Lionel, Leslie, Vernal, Elva, Alex “Bill”, and Della

She wore many hats in her lifetime: farm hand, Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, seamstress, waitress, Avon dealer, manager of Isabel Café, and custodian of the Isabel Civic Center.  She belonged to the Dewey County Extension Club and her card Party.  She was known for her craft making in multiple medias: knitting, crocheting, quilting, beading, plastic canvas, and other projects.

She enjoyed her snowbird years in Quart Site, Arizona.  Her remaining years were in an apartment in Douglas and since January, 2015 she had lived at the Douglas Care Center.

She was preceded in death by the following immediate family, husband, Alex Zahrowski, on January 3, 2007; father, Fred Brinkman, in 1972; mother, Alvina Brinkman, on June 4, 2005; sister, Gloria Vernal Brinkman; children, Della Kay Zahrowski and Leslie Rae Zahrowski; and grandson, Theodore Dale Trove.

Rosmarie is survived by the following children, Gloria Kautz of Wadena, Minnesota, Larry Zahrowski of Gillette, Wyoming, Lionel Zahrowski of Douglas, Wyoming, Vernal Trove of Rapid City, South Dakota, Elva Hix of Piedmont, South Dakota, and Alex Leroy Zahrowskie of Casper, Wyoming; brother, Delfred (Helen) Brinkman; sister, Betty Walker; fourteen grandchildren; and thirteen great grandchildren.

A memorial to The Church of God, 108 West Utah, Isabel, South Dakota 57633 would be appreciated by the family.
