Funeral services for John Darrell “Goldie” Ralls, 78, will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at the band shelter at the Gordon Davis Park in Guernsey, Wyoming with Pastors Casey Schroeder and Andy Gudahl officiating.
John Ralls passed away Thursday, September 7, 2017 at his home north of Wheatland, Wyoming of natural causes.
John was born March 27, 1939 in Chillicothe, Missouri the son of John Franklin and Marjorie Neola (Corbin) Ralls.
The family moved to Guernsey when John was young, picking cotton as they moved toward Wyoming.  John grew up and attended school at the Guernsey/Sunrise School, where he played football during his high school years.
John worked with the Bromley family at their sawmill, one of the happiest times of his life.  He then joined the United States Army serving during the Viet Nam Era, entering on July 12, 1961 and was discharged on June 30, 1967.  After he returned home he went to work at the CFI-Sunrise Mine for 16 years.  He attended the Wyoming Technical Institute where he learned to be a diesel mechanic.  He also worked for the Rose Brothers in Lingle, Wyoming for about a year, and then went to work for the Town of Guernsey.  He retired after 22 years of service to the Town of Guernsey.
John married Sharon Shaffer on March 16, 1968 and they live 16 miles north of Wheatland at the El Rancho exit, residing here until his death.
John loved to hunt and fish, drive through the mountains, swim in the pond on the Horseshoe Creek, and watch the Wyoming Cowboys football and basketball teams.  
John loved and protected his family.  He was quiet a man and never put his burdens on anyone else.    
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Sharon Ralls, of Wheatland; daughter, Brandy (Fred) Williams of Wheatland; son, Kyle Ralls and Amanda of Wright, Wyoming; grandchildren, Travis, Shane, Josh (Erica), Brittany, Tazia (Jerry), Emma, Wyatt, and RJ; great grandchildren, Sarah, Anthony, Elivia, Aerobella, and Ezekiel; siblings, Danny Ralls of Priest Falls, Idaho, Rocky (DeAnna) Ralls of Cheyenne, Wyoming, Laquetta Joy (Marlon) King of Guernsey, Wyoming, Shirley Jean (Larry) Daly of Guernsey, Wyoming, Linda Lou Howard of Casper, Wyoming, and Sandra Kay “Sandy” Ralls of Torrington, Wyoming; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
John was preceded in death by his father, John, on October 28, 1979; mother, Marjorie, on November 13, 1999; sister, Ramona Carol Knott; and brother, Frederick “Ricky” Ralls.

I did not know Mr Ralls - I felt a need to express my (thanks for his military service in Viet Nam). From this Retired Air Force veteran to the entire family and friends of Mr. Ralls please know I respect his sacrifice in the military & for his and other military wives, families, children that also serve while Mr Ralls was over seas.
