Graveside services for Leonard G. Cussins, 91, will be held at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at the Wheatland Cemetery in Wheatland, Wyoming.
Leonard Cussins passed away Sunday, February 11, 2018 at the Platte County Legacy Home in Wheatland.
Leonard was born July 7, 1926 in Stratton, Nebraska the son of Cecil Raymond and Milred (Golding) Cussins.
Leonard entered into the United States 13th Air Service Group on September 27, 1944 he was stationed in Tachikawa, Japan.  When he was discharged on October 29, 1946 he was ranked Corporal.  He returned to Wheatland to farm near Bordeaux/ Slater area.  He married Dorothy Jean Dunmire on July 20, 1952 in Wheatland.  While continuing to farm he also worked at the gas station in Chugwater, Wyoming.  The family moved to Cheyenne for a while and Leonard worked for a trucking company and drove truck.  They later returned to Wheatland to operate a dairy farm and also worked various jobs around Wheatland.  When he sold the dairy farm he worked for the county as a road grader until his retirement.  
Some of his hobbies included restoring antique tractors, camping, fishing, hunting, and spending time with his grandchildren.  
He is survived by his daughter, Virginia Kay (Stan) Harris of Pine Bluffs, Wyoming; grandchildren, Alex Harris of Fort Laramie, Wyoming, Sandra Harris of Lander, Wyoming, and Matthew (Natalie) Harris of Glenrock, Wyoming; great granddaughters, McKenna, Kayleen, and Danika Harris all of Glenrock; and siblings, Evelyn Yeadon of Wheatland and Orville Cussins of Cheyenne, Wyoming.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Cussins on May 24, 2010; son, Raymond Gerald Cussins on March 15, 1972; and sister, Norma Phelps.
A memorial to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, Rocky Mountain Chapter, 2727 Bryant Street, Suite 380, Denver, Colorado 80211 would be appreciated by the family.
The Gorman Funeral Homes – Platte Chapel of Wheatland are in charge of the arrangements.

Just sending condolences from myself and my brother,Michael Meguire. I have had all of you on my mind for months now wondering how everyone is...and I just want to share how much I ALWAYS enjoyed coming to Wyoming and visiting and Leonard always made me laugh and I remember my father,Ervin,and Leonard and Orville would talk for hours and hours....please accept my deepest sympathies.
