Funeral services for Betty Mae Crawford, 79, will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at the Gorman Funeral Homes – Converse Chapel in Douglas, Wyoming with Pastor Ron Blain officiating.  Inurnment will be in the Douglas Park Cemetery
Betty passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends on Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at the Memorial Hospital of Converse County in Douglas.
Betty was born in West Allis, Wisconsin on Saturday, October 1, 1938 to Wellington Edward Lewis and Jennie Opal (DePriest) Lewis.  In 1947 at the age of 9, Betty and her family moved to Rugby, North Dakota.
On January 8, 1955 Betty married her first husband, Maynard Degner.  To this union four children were born.  On June 1, 1967 the family moved to Douglas, and on January 26, 1981 Maynard suffered a fatal heart attack and Betty became a widow for the first time.  On March 9, 1981 Betty married Veldon LeRoy “Vel” Crawford who had two sons.  To this union one more child was born.
Betty had several occupations throughout her life, which included baking cakes, childcare, foster care, and a cook.  She was a dedicated employee of McDonald's for more than 25 years.  Betty enjoyed her secret pal club, jigsaw puzzles, crossword puzzles, and embroidery.  Betty was a one of a kind person.  She was a loving, caring woman.  She accepted all types of people from all walks of life as very dear friends.  Betty will be greatly missed by all.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Maynard Degner, on January 26, 1981, and Veldon Vel Crawford, on December 14, 2015; brothers, Kenny Lewis and Sonny Lewis and sister, Bonnie Triebel.
She is survived by her children, Valerie (Paul) Rich of Douglas, Edward Degner of Douglas, Wanda (Terry) White of Rock Springs, Wyoming, Marilyn (Wendell) Manning of Douglas, Mary Lou (August)  Konie of Douglas, James Crawford of Douglas, and Bradley (Crystal) Crawford of Douglas; twin sister, Beverly Miller of Rugby, North Dakota; seventeen grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; and one great-great granddaughter.
Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Jim Moyer, Ben Ramos Sr., Jesus Ramos, Gabriel Ramos, and Ben Ramos Jr.
In lieu of flowers a memorial to the Betty Mae Crawford Memorial Fund in care of the Converse County Bank, P.O. Box 689, Douglas, Wyoming 82633 would be appreciated by the family.    
The Gorman Funeral Homes – Converse Chapel of Douglas, Wyoming was in charge of the arrangements.

My deepest sympathy to all the family. I’m sorry I couldn’t make it there for the funeral but my thoughts and prayers to everyone, aunt Betty will be deeply missed.

Sorry for your loss. Ill never forget the dirt cakes she made us at McDonald's. They were the best.
