Dirk Neverve, 54 of Douglas, Wyoming passed away from a massive heart attack on Tuesday September 4th, 2018.
Dirk was born Saturday, May 7, 1964 in Wheat Ridge, Colorado to John and Carol Neverve. He graduated from Ogallala High School in Ogallala, Nebraska and from the University of Wyoming in Laramie with a BS in Electrical Engineering. He was employed by Texas Instruments in Colorado Springs, Colorado before relocating with Raytheon Deutschland, to Freising, Germany. He attended high school with his future wife, Jodi (Stewart) Neverve. While in Germany they met after not seeing one another for nine years then married in Karlstejn, Czech Republic October 1, 1994. They resided in Germany until buying the KOA campground in Douglas, Wyoming in 2004. Dirk retired from Raytheon in September of 2008 and then joined Jodi to live and work the rest of his days on the campground.
Dirk was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved football, basketball, cards and game playing. His love and passion were the mountains where he and Jodi purchased land in La Bonte Creek in the Medicine Bow National Forest where they hoped to retire one day in their dream log home. Dirk was known for his gentle, soft-spoken, hardworking, caring, compassionate and self-less nature. Young and old alike loved him because he had that wonderful, unique ability to make everyone feel special. He sought out each individual at family and work gatherings and would make you feel special like you were the only one in the room and that you truly mattered. He was like a son to those who were older, a father figure to those who needed one, and a favorite amongst siblings. His family, including his many nieces and nephews, employees and colleagues respected and adored him and are heartbroken to have lost him so early. He will be sorely missed by everyone who knew and loved him.
Dirk was preceded in death by his father, Jack Neverve; brother-in-law, Russ Falotico;  nephew, Mike Petersen; and mother-in-law, Faylene Stewart.
Survivors include his wife Jodi, mother, Carol Neverve of Fruita, Colorado; sisters, Shelli (Doug) Petersen of Woodland Park, Colorado and Lisa (Troy) David of Grand Junction, Colorado; brother, Doug (Kathy) Neverve of Big Springs, Nebraska; father-in-law, Cameron Stewart of Ogallala, Nebraska; sisters-in-law, Gwen (Dave) McQuisten of Ogallala, Nebraska and Lynndi Falotico of Greeley, Colorado; brother-in-law, Garon (Sherri) Stewart of Ogallala, Nebraska; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A private family ceremony will be held the morning of Saturday, October 13, 2018 at their mountain property followed by an open reception to all friends in the afternoon. Please visit the Gorman Funeral web page at gormanfh.com or call the KOA office for more details. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to P.O. Box 1190, Douglas, Wyoming 82633 for  the Converse County Search and Rescue or the non-profit organization he dedicated so much effort to, Kolton’s Karnival.
The Gorman Funeral Homes – Converse Chapel of Douglas, Wyoming is assisting with the arrangements.

To Jodi and all who also loved Dirk:

Our guitarist is gone, and I am so heartbroken. You may remember that Dirk was part of our OHS jazz combo, Instant Replay, with Eric Ottem, Harry Ribble, Kent Dolan, Ted Turkington and myself. Later, Dirk joined with Kent, Greg Hatch and me in the rhythm section that anchored our Show Choir and Stage Band. And since I was basketball statistician, I got to see him in action there as well.

Dirk was so much fun to make music with. I never could find you to invite him and you to the choir reunions we had in 2000 and 2007. And I wanted to tell you both how touched I was that you two found each other again over in Europe. It was such a beautiful story when I read it.

I also wanted to find you so I could share digital copies of the choir and band recordings my dad had made when Dirk and I performed together. If you're interested, please email me with your mailing address when you're ready.

May God welcome Dirk into His presence and be your strength and comfort in this difficult time.

Sincerely, Todd von Kampen, OHS '82

So sorry to hear of the lost of Dirk. He was way too young to leave us. Thinking back to him with that Gibson SG (one of the coolest guitars ever before I even know how cool they were), brings a smile to my face. A steady presence for all his band mates in high school. My peace goes out to you Dirk, your family, and your wife Jodi. I'm picturing you in heaven getting fitted for your "school boy" outfit and jamming on your SG more powerfully than Angus ever has. I'll be there soon enough with a pair of drum sticks. KD

I'm sorry for your great loss. Dirk was truly one of the "good guys." I thought a lot of Dirk in High School and I know he carried those great attributes throughout his life. May God give you peace in this difficult time.

Jodi, We are so shocked and saddened by the news of Dirk’s passing. He was such a sweet and cool guy. We uploaded a few photos of a bike ride that several co-workers and spouses took part in in the mid-80s. Boy, were we all young and beautiful then! And especially Dirk! Hope you enjoy them, we sure enjoy remembering those wonderful times. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

I only heard about Dirk's passing today. While we didn't really stay in touch after having worked together in Germany - apart from a few get-togethers of ex-coworkers - this news makes me so very sad. Dirk was such a good human being, a loyal friend and husband, always and unfailingly helpful and kind. He also had a great sense of humor and I remember us laughing a lot back then. To Jodi and all of the Neverve family: We are extremely sorry for your loss and will never forget him. We will keep you in our thoughts at this difficult time.

I will always remember Dirk with a smile on his face! He wanted everyone around him to be happy. Many memories are playing volleyball with Dirk and the Texas Instruments gang.

I am sending love and prayers to Jodi and his entire family.

What a shocker and what a loss from this world ! He helped us so much—-fixing a water line, so we could have water for the trees, helping with fencing, coming to our aid when we couldn’t get the chipper started, helping with a load of 400 bags that overturned at our gate, bringing over equipment to move dirt—just a few of the many times both of you helped us out. Can’t forget you jumped in the culvert (in your nice clothes) to help hold our foal out of the water. We are so sorry for your loss—know that you are in our prayers. Much Love,
Gretchen and Bobbie
