Alan A. Anderson Sr. “Andy”, a loving father and grandfather and resident of Douglas, Wyoming, departed this world to be with his Savior on Monday, October 15, 2018, at the age of 82 surrounded by his family.
Andy is survived by his children, Alan A. (Karen) Anderson of Winnemucca, Nevada, Kathleen A. (Gary) Hillner of San Antonio, Texas, Kenneth J. (Cindy) Anderson of Easley, South Carolina, and Timothy W. (Tina) Anderson of Douglas, Wyoming; 18 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas J. Anderson; mother, Hazel May (Carl) Anderson; sisters, Nina Cox, Madie Lair, and Dorothy Lindsey; and brother, Tomas M. Anderson.
Andy was born in Phoenix, Arizona, on October 31, 1935, to Thomas and Hazel Anderson. He graduated from Tucson High School the spring of 1953 and joined the United States Marine Corps in January, 1954. He served in Korean Conflict during his four years of service in the Marines. Andy attended the University of Arizona and began a lifelong career in underground and surface mining. He held positions of underground miner, geologist, mining engineer, mine surveyor, mine safety supervisor, and project manager
Andy was a loving father an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. In his retirement years, Andy volunteered his time to various mission organizations that took him to the Ukraine, England, Vanuatu, Honduras, and numerous times to Mexico. He was a spiritual man and involved in many church activities, including teaching and serving. He will be deeply missed by his friends, family, and all who knew him.
Per his wishes, Andy was buried on Friday, October 19, 2018 at 2 p.m. at the Douglas Park Cemetery with his immediate family in attendance. Pastor Tim Ricker officiated the service.
A memorial service is scheduled for 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 10, 2018, at Frontier Baptist Church, 2345 E. Richards Street, Douglas, Wyoming.  A reception will follow. Pastor Tim Ricker will officiate the service.
The Gorman Funeral Homes-Converse Chapel of Douglas was in charge of the arrangements.
