Mass of Christian burial will be held for Anita Louise “Nita” Walker, 67, at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, August 31, 2024 at Saint James Catholic Church 311 South Fifth Street, Douglas, Wyoming with Father Kazimiro Lucas Simango as the Celebrant. The rosary will be at Saint. James Catholic Church on Friday, August 30, 2024 at 7:00 PM. Inurnment will be at the Douglas Park Cemetery.
Anita passed away on Wednesday, July 31, 2024 in Phoenix, Arizona from ongoing illness.
She was born Thursday, April 18, 1957 in Douglas, Wyoming the daughter of Lewis William and Lucille Linda (Rooks) Barney.
Anita was a young at heart girl living each day as it came. She was a fan of Fleetwood Mac and had great memories of seeing Stevie Nicks in concert. She knew all her songs.
She drove a senior bus in Phoenix area until retiring. All the seniors loved her youthful ways and they never knew what excitement she had in store for each trip.
She was an animal enthusiast and if she could, would adopt them all.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lewis and Lucille Barney, and two sisters, Judy O’Neal and Patricia Greenough.
Anita is survived by her daughter, Mandi (Rob) Loughan; grandsons, Cody (Preslee) Cagle and Shelton Cagle; great grandson, Koen; great granddaughters, Cercie and Nyxyann; and siblings are Ron (Stella) Barney, Billie (Kelly) Engleman, Larry Barney, Tresa (John) Colistro as well as several nieces & nephews.
