Arlene Carol Wilhelm, longtime resident of Wheatland, Wyoming passed away on June 18, 2021 at the age of 93. She was born Arlene Brecht, on Saturday, December 24, 1927 in Melrose Park, Illinois. Her family began farming in Wheatland, where she graduated high school in 1946, and married Victor Wilhelm in October, 1947. In 1954, they moved to Oral, South Dakota, where they engaged in farming and began a family. After 20 years they retired from farming and moved to Rapid City, South Dakota for nine years before returning to Wheatland in 1984, where she resided until the time of her death. She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Becky Wilhelm of Las Vegas, Nevada; granddaughters, Jennifer Wilhelm and Tracy Sarnblad of Las Vegas; grandson, Travis Wilhelm of Broomfield, Colorado; great grandchildren, Lily Sarnblad and Lincoln Wilhelm, and other loving relatives. She is preceded in death by her husband, Victor Wilhelm; sons, Alan, Dale, and Rodney; parents, John and Ethel Brecht, and brothers, John and Harry Brecht. In life she enjoyed many pursuits, including traveling, gardening, crocheting, reading, playing cards with friends, and spending time with her family. Arlene will be buried alongside her husband, Victor and son, Rodney at Evergreen Cemetery in Hot Springs, South Dakota.
