BESSIE M. "BETTY" ARMSTRONG

A graveside service for Bessie M. “Betty” Armstrong, 92, will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, September 6, 2022 at the Valley View Cemetery in Torrington, Wyoming with Pastor Jim Hofmann of the Nazarene Church in Torrington officiating.
Bessie Armstrong passed away on Wednesday, August 31, 2022 at the Goshen Healthcare Community in Torrington.
Bessie was born to Roy and Lois (Eagon) Stuck in Melbeta, Nebraska on Monday, February 10, 1930. In the early 1930’s they moved to Torrington. Of the siblings, Bessie was the only one to graduate from high school and she was very proud of that.
She married Wesley Armstrong on June 28, 1948 and born to this union were two sons, Brian and Tom Armstrong. They lived in Kesey, Oregon for a very short time but came back to good old Goshen County.
In the 1960’s, Bessie became a CNA and worked at the Goshen County Nursing Home. During this time, she was working to become an LPN. She retired in the early 1980’s.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wesley, of 73 years of marriage; two sisters, Doreen and Margaret; one brother, Bob; and her parents.
She is survived by sons, Brian (Jeana) and Tom (Ronda); sister, Mary; grandchildren, Melissa, Corey, Dori, Ryan, and Rick; great grandchildren, Justin, Landon, Paige, Payton, and Felix; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The Gorman Funeral Homes – Platte Chapel of Wheatland is in charge of the arrangements.
