BLANCHE L. (EWERTZ) MEYER

A funeral liturgy for Blanche L. Meyer, 95, will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, March 3, 2021 at the Our Lady of the Plains Catholic Church in Byer, Colorado with Father John Green as the celebrant.  Interment will be held in the Mount View Cemetery in Bennett, Colorado.

Blanche Meyer passed away on Thursday, February 25, 2021 at the Platte County Legacy Home in Wheatland, Wyoming. 

Blanche was born on Saturday, December 12, 1925 the daughter of Michael and Hattie (Hammersky) Ewertz in Keenesburg, Colorado.

Blanche married Fred W. Meyer and they were married for 50 years.  They farmed most of their life in Bennett.  Blanche was also a cook and Director of the school lunch program at the Bennett School District for 30 years.  She had an ear for music and could play just about any instrument and played it all by ear. 

Blanche was a very loving mother, grandma, and great grandma and will be dearly missed.

Blanche is survived by her children, Fred (Carolyn) Meyer, Virginia (Les) Mathis, Jim (Rodene) Meyer, Larry (Gene) Hoffman, Sharon Lynn Hoffman, and Vivian Lein; grandchildren, Doug Meyer, Doyle Meyer, Mark Mathis, Greg Meyer, Michelle Connell, Heather Cunningham, and Lisa Meyer; twelve great grandchildren; one great great grandchild with one on the way; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Meyer in 1995; her parents; and seven siblings.

Friends and family may call at the church from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service.

Serving as pallbearers will be Fred Meyer, Les Mathis, Doug Meyer, Greg Meyer, Doyle Meyer, and Mark Mathis.

A memorial to the Platte County Legacy Home, 100 Nineteenth Street; Wheatland, Wyoming 82201 would be appreciated by the family.
