BRUCE SPIKER Obituary

Bruce Lee Spiker, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother, passed away peacefully on Saturday June 14, 2025, in Wheatland, Wyoming. He was born on July 4, 1959, in Denver, Colorado, to Richard and Patricia Spiker. Bruce entered the world as a tiny fighter, weighing only 3 pounds, 10 ½ ounces. In his early years, he enjoyed playing little league baseball, excelling particularly in football playing for the Saints of Jefferson High School, where he proudly graduated from.

Bruce will be profoundly remembered for his unwavering dedication and hard work throughout his life. He worked for Lloyds Welding for 10 years and, for 28 years, served as an amazing custodian at West Elementary, where his presence surely brought order and care to the school community. You would always be able to spot him in his red t-shirt and his blue overalls, usually with a pocket full of fireball candy. Beyond his professional contributions, Bruce was a man who knew no stranger and was always ready with a helping hand. A true jokester, he possessed a remarkably generous spirit, willing to give the shirt off his back if needed.

Beyond his professional life, Bruce was a devoted family man. He met his beautiful wife, Maria Teresa Spiker, and they dedicated their lives to each other on July 5, 2001. Bruce not only accepted the hand of his wife but also embraced her two beautiful girls, Esmeralda Grange and Jessica Lopez, claiming them as his own. Their family was soon completed with the arrival of his youngest daughter, Patsy Spiker (Brody Webb). On the surface, one might underestimate how much of a “teddy bear” he truly was. His role as a grandfather brought him immense joy, and he was a beloved “papa” to Edward Olson, Lily Grange, Landon Younge, and Violet Webb. Bruce also shared a special bond with his twin brother, Bryon Spiker; when one of them was around, you could almost bet the other was not far behind. He was also a dear brother and brother in law to Brandon (Kim) Spiker, and Brett (Amy) Spiker.

An avid outdoorsman, Bruce found peace and enjoyment in nature, especially loving camping trips. He was a devoted and passionate Broncos fan. Bruce was also a music lover, enjoying various genres, except for what he considered “rap-crap.” He was a master of the grill, and food was often his way of connecting with others, though his love for spice might have sometimes overtaken a meal or two! He loved hunting and fishing, but it wasn't always about the trophy catch or prize that were made during these adventures that truly filled him with happiness, although catching the biggest catch of the day was certainly an added bonus!

Bruce was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Patricia spiker, and his younger brother, Bradley spiker.

He leaves behind a legacy of hard work, devotion, kindness, and a deep love for his family and the outdoors. He will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
