A Celebration of Life service will be held for Carol Edna Steward, 87, in the summer of 2022.
Carol died peacefully in her sleep at her apartment in Douglas, Wyoming on Sunday, December 12, 2021.
Carol was born Wednesday, September 12, 1934 in Riverton, Wyoming the daughter of Cliffe Leonard and Lillian Frances (MacWilliams) Hogans. Edna and her family lived in Dubois, Wyoming until moving to Monroe, Oregon in 1941, where she was raised and educated. She graduated from Monroe High School and then attended Southern Oregon College in Ashland. She was married to Vern Steward and they live in Gold Beach, Oregon and later divorced. She moved to Corvallis, Oregon working as a bookkeeper in various businesses retiring in 2013. She moved from Corvallis to Douglas in June, 2021 to be closer to her two sons, Mark and Mike.
Carol was a member of the ladies Lions Club and enjoyed knitting, crocheting, making ceramics, and painting.
She is survived by her two sons, Mark Steward and Mike Steward, both of Douglas; sister, Agnes Fisher of Corvallis; several grandchildren; and one great grandson.
Carol was preceded in death by her father, Cliffe, on July 21, 1970; mother, Lillian, on November 8, 1988; and four sisters, Frances, Jeannette, Kathryn, and Mildred.
