Claude was born Friday, November 26, 1943 in Camden-on-Gauley, West Virginia the son of Clifford McClellan and Thelma (Snyder) Ware.

Following his high school graduation, his brother, Shelly, picked him up from West Virginia and they moved across the country to North Dakota where he worked for his brother for several months before starting his work in the oil industry and moving to Baker, Montana.

It was here that he met the love of his life, Doris, and was married on May 9, 1964. They enjoyed an incredible 57 years of marriage which was blessed with two children and six grandchildren. These relationships were the joy of his life.

He accepted a job in Gillette, Wyoming in the oil industry, where he was promoted to foreman and was transferred to Douglas, Wyoming and Plaza, North Dakota. Claude then retired from the oil industry and he and Doris returned to Douglas where he worked in mining for 11 years before retiring. After retirement, he enjoyed continuing to work part-time at several endeavors.

He accepted Christ as his Savior in 1965 and was deeply committed to his faith. He was a member of First Baptist Church and loved his church family. Claude was a man of many interests, including being at and working on his ranch in Montana, serving as an EMT and on search and rescue teams, serving on the school board, flying his private plane, restoring cars, hunting, fishing, and snowmobiling. He loved his two hunting dogs, Penny and Bullet, and the numerous horses he had through his life. Claude will be remembered for his social personality and loved visiting with friends and strangers alike.
