Colburn "Coby" Colyear lost his long and courageous battle with cancer on Friday, August 16, 2024 at the age of 77.
He was born in Menlo Park, California on December 17, 1946.
He came from a large family, with two brothers and three sisters, all of which he will join in heaven.
Coby enjoyed working with wood, starting a couple of redwood shops, called "Redwood Conception", specializing in burl tables, bars, and clocks. The first shop starting in Black Hawk, Colorado, then another in Chicago, Illinois. Spending many years in California, he eventually moved to Black Hawk where he built a beautiful home in the mountains.
He also started several "Star Windshield Repair" shops throughout the country.
Coby enjoyed hunting, fishing, and especially riding his Harley many miles.
But the joy of his life were his two children, daughter, Jessica Marie, born in California in 1977 and son, Cash Cooper, born in Denver in 1982.
He lived for many years in northern California, before moving to Wheatland, Wyoming to be with his son, Cash for the remainder of his life.
He is survived by his daughter, Jessica (John) La Rue of Potter Valley, California, son, Cash (Jamie) Colyear of Wheatland; several grandchildren; great grandchildren; nieces; nephews; and their children, and many friends.
He was a very loved man and will be deeply missed by all who knew him and shared his life.
The family will hold a private celebration of his life at a later date.
The Gorman Funeral Homes – Platte Chapel of Wheatland are in charge of the arrangements.
