CONSTANCE STIVASON Obituary
Funeral services for Constance Lee “Connie” Stivason, 83, will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, July 31, 2021 at Gorman Funeral Homes – Platte Chapel in Wheatland, Wyoming with Pastor Casey Schroeder officiating. Inurnment will be in the Wheatland Cemetery.
Connie Stivason of Wheatland, Wyoming, passed away Sunday, December 20, 2020, at the Platte County Legacy Home.
Connie was born Saturday, October 30, 1937 in Wheatland to Everett and Leota (Kindt) Dawson. She married Hank Yeadon in 1954. They had three children-Sonny, Toni, and Lesa. They divorced in 1974. Connie married William Bailey in 1979. They divorced in 1981. She married Richard Stivason in 1982. They divorced in 1990.
Connie was no stranger to work. She left the family farm at the age of fifteen to live in town and work as a nurse’s aide for Dr. Allison, then at Platte County Memorial Hospital for twenty years, where she was also trained to be a surgical technician.
She then worked as a dental assistant for Dr. Ben Harnish for several years. After a short stint as a bartender for her son at Kelly's Bar in Guernsey, Wyoming, she worked several more years for Marker's and NAPA auto parts.
Connie is survived by her daughter, Toni (Mike) Quillen of Cheyenne, Wyoming; brothers, Huey (Lena) Dawson and Jay (Della) Dawson of Wheatland; sisters, Winnie Atterbury of Wheatland, Betty (Jon) Bagenstos of Cedar Falls, Iowa, and Billie Nimsgern of Coventry, Rhode Island. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Connie was preceded in death by her parents; son, Sonny Yeadon; daughter, Lesa Bartow; grandson Michael Gillespie; great-grandson, Lincoln Hampton; and her step-father, Oscar Throckmorton.
Her family wishes to thank Dr. Laurie Palmer and the staff of Platte County Legacy Home for their constant and loving care these past few years.
