A graveside service for Cleetus Adrian Allen, 91, will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, September 4, 2021 at the Wheatland Cemetery in Wheatland, Wyoming.
Cleetus Allen passed away on Tuesday, August 24, 2021 at Platte County Legacy Home in Wheatland.
Cleetus was born Sunday, June 8, 1930 to CD Allen and Birdie (Standish) Allen in Lodge Grass, Montana. He was the oldest of four children, one brother and two sisters.
On August 29, 1974 he married Jocelyn (Maiden) Howard. They made their home in Casper, Wyoming until his retirement from Chicago Northwestern Railroad in 1992. They then moved to Wheatland to be near family members.
He began his career with Chicago Northwestern Railroad in 1951. He was very proud of his long career with the railroad and always had many stories about it.
Cleetus loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, hunting, and traveling. He and his wife, Jackie, visited every state and part of Canada, in their motorhome.
He was a very kind and giving man who was always willing to help anyone who needed it. He will be greatly missed.
He is survived by one brother, Lyle Allen of Colorado Springs, Colorado; one daughter, Kim Allen of Nebraska; two step-daughters, Jerelyn (Fred) Geringer of Wheatland and Lori Howard of Casper, Wyoming; five step grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and one great-great granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father; two sisters; wife, Jocelyn J. “Jackie” Allen on November 13, 2000; stepson, Tom Howard; and step grandson, Bryan Geringer.
