DANIEL JAMES CAYTON

A funeral service for Daniel James Cayton, 58, will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, October 2, 2023 at the First Christian Church in Wheatland, Wyoming with Pastor Casey Schroeder officiating.

Daniel Cayton passed away on Thursday, September 21, 2023 at his home of natural causes.

Danny, as he was known, was the son of James and Roberta (Bybee) Cayton. He was born on Monday, December 21, 1964 in Riverton, Wyoming. He shared his birthday with his adopted mother.

Dan lived in the Wheatland area his entire life. He attended Wheatland Public Schools. He was a member of the Class of 1983 but chose to leave school and earn his GED. He worked for agriculture most of his adult life. He was employed by the railroad as a crew driver at the time of his passing.

He married Irene Woolsey on December 27, 1997 in Wheatland. To this union, two sons were born, Deven and Wyatt.

He is survived by his sons, Deven and Wyatt, both of Wheatland; granddaughter, Aspen; mother, Roberta of Wheatland; sister, Betsy (Donald) Coolidge, of Falls City, Nebraska; brother-in-law, William (Lori) Sturgeon; nieces and their families, Jaime (Matthew) Sallman, Ella and Ezra of Olathe, Kansas; and Kelsey (Ryan) Dethlefsen, Luke and Grace; nephews, James and Matthew Sturgeon; and extended family members and friends.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Irene; father, James; in-laws, Alice and George Woolsey; brother-in-law, Robert Woolsey; and grandparents, Irvin and Harriet Bybee and Norbon and Pearl Cayton.

A memorial to the Daniel Cayton Memorial, in care of Platte Valley Bank, 200 Sixteenth Street, Wheatland, Wyoming 82201 would be apricated by the family.
