DARLENE JOY (COLLINS) VAN VALKENBURG

Darlene (Collins) Van Valkenburg, 78, of Green River, Wyoming passed away on Sunday, October 3, 2021 after a long struggle with metastasized breast cancer.

Darlene was born on Tuesday, August 10, 1943 in Portland Oregon to Glen and Wanda Collins.

Darlene spent the majority of her life in Wyoming. She raised her children in Cheyenne and then moved to Green River and married Paul Van Valkenburg. Later she started her own small business called Darlene’s Lawn Service. Together with her husband Paul they served the Green River and Rock Springs area for over 25 years. She will be best remembered by her friends and family as a real go getter whose motto was “Just one more”. She was very generous and loving to her friends and family and anyone that was close to her will remember her food and what a great cook she was. Darlene’s laugh and smile will be forever ingrained in the hearts and minds of those who knew her.

Darlene was preceded in death by her parents, Glen and Wanda (Brow) Collins.

She is survived by her husband, Paul Van Valkenburg; son, Jeff Wallace; daughter, Michelle (Wallace) Burkett; stepson, Corey Van Valkenburg; five grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 9, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. at the Eagles Club, 88 N 2nd E Street in Green River, Wyoming 82935.
