A funeral service for Deanna “Dee” Nelson, 71, will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, January 6, 2023 at the First Christian Church in Wheatland, Wyoming with Pastor Casey Schroeder officiating. Interment will be held at the Wheatland Cemetery. The funeral will be live streamed at

Dee Nelson passed away on Friday, December 23, 2022 at her home near Wheatland after a short illness.
Dee was born on Wednesday, March 7, 1951 in Gering, Nebraska the daughter of Sam and Regena (Grubbs) Grassmick.
Dee was reared and educated in Nebraska and graduated from Gering High School. She started working right away after she graduated. She married Roger Nelson in 1974 in Gering. Together they moved to Wheatland and began their life. Dee worked various jobs in Wheatland, and then went on to help Roger with his irrigation business.
Some of her hobbies included gardening and caring for her children and family.
Dee is survived by her husband, Roger Nelson of Wheatland; son, Ty Nelson; daughter, Kristie Nelson both of Wheatland; granddaughter, Makenzie Richmond-Nelson; sister, Cheryl of Nebraska; and brother, Sam of Colorado.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Dennis Grassmick.
Gorman Funeral Homes – Platte Chapel of Wheatland are in charge of the arrangements.
