A private family graveside service and inurnment will be held for Dennis Lee Wisecup, 75, at the Douglas Park Cemetery in Douglas, Wyoming at a later time.

Dennis died Friday, January 22, 2021 at the Memorial Hospital of Converse County in Douglas with his son and daughter at his bedside.

Dennis was born Friday, June 15, 1945 in Shelby, Iowa the son of Lilly Christina (Vogt) and Clarence Jacob Wisecup Sr.  The family lived on a farm near Hygiene, Colorado and Dennis was educated in Longmont, Colorado graduating from the Longmont High School in in 1963.  Dennis said the best part of high school was FFA with Advisor Dud Mattoon and spending one year as State FFA Vice President.  He attended Colorado State University in Fort Collins and graduated in 1968 with a BA degree in Vocational Education.  He taught vocational agriculture and sponsored FFA in Weldona, Colorado for five years.  He was the farm cooperative manager in Plymouth and Big Springs, Nebraska for five years.  Dennis moved to Douglas and became the concrete plant manager at a local concrete plant where he worked for 32 years.  He retired in April, 2012.

Dennis was married in June, 1967 to Delores Smith and to this union two children were born, Dale in 1969 and Denise in 1971.  He later was married to Barbara Faye (Sanchez) Hughes on December 27, 1980 in Douglas.  Barbara was the love of his life for almost 32 years.

He enjoyed drag racing and hunting.

Dennis is survived by his children, Dale Jean Wisecup of Douglas and Denise Lee O’Byrne of Andover, Kansas; brother, Clarence Jacob Wisecup Jr. of Windham, Maine; and three grandchildren, Desiree Wisecup, Chloe O’Byrne, and Lilly O’Byrne.

He was preceded in death by his father, Clarence, on July 24, 1989; mother, Lilly, on June 29, 1986; wife, Barbara, on July 11, 2015; and siblings, Joyce Mardella Brown on March 4, 1997, Russell J. Wisecup on November 7, 2004, and Harold Charles Wisecup on October 5, 2016.
