DIANE TAYLOR Obituary

A graveside service for Diane Louise (Sanborn) Taylor, 63, will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, July 15, 2022 at the Horseshoe Cemetery near Glendo, Wyoming with Reverend Tom Ketner and The Reverend Jennie Ketner officiating.  There will be a get together immediately after the service to share memories and stories at the Glendo Town Park.

Diane Taylor passed away at her home in Wheatland, Wyoming on Monday, June 20, 2022 after a courageous, heart-breaking battle against pancreatic cancer.

The daughter of Glendo ranchers Don and Marge (McVay) Sanborn was born in Douglas, Wyoming on Monday, February 16, 1959.  Diane graduated from Glendo High School in 1977, and then went on to attended Eastern Wyoming College in Torrington, Wyoming.  Raised on the ranch her grandparents homesteaded 100 years ago, Diane learned a lot about cows, horses, family, and life.  Along side her mom, Diane was a life long member of the American Legion Auxiliary, John Price Unit 15 in Glendo.

In 1981 Diane married, David Taylor, who worked for the Wyoming State Parks.  Diane found herself living in South Pass City St. Historic Site, then Medicine Lodge St. Archaeology Site in Hyattville, Wyoming, before they retired to Wheatland.  When living in South Pass Diane worked as a vet tech in Lander, Wyoming and then at Hyattville she worked as a cowhand for the Hyatt Ranch, the Mercer Ranches, and fed bum lambs for the Hamilton’s.  While living in Hyattville she and her friends entered many pig wrestling contests, and also formed a bowling team that went to the National Bowling Center in Reno, Nevada.

Diane is survived by her husband, Dave of Wheatland; son, Nate; parents, Don and Marjorie Sanborn, of Glendo; sister, Lanette Sager, of Evanston, Wyoming; brothers, Lake (Robbie) Sanborn of Glendo and Darrel (Janelle) Sanborn of Wright, Wyoming; nieces, Tyfani and Haley (Mike) and family; nephew, Josh (Dana) and family; niece, Jody (Brad) and Kinley; niece, Shelby (fiancée, Spencer); nephew, Luke; several aunts, uncles, and cousins; sisters-in-law, Patricia Matthews, Michelle Whalen and niece, Taylor (Ian), Linda and Jerry Woodard, Kim and Brian Taylor, niece, Morgan (Max); and a wonderful nephew, Spencer.

A memorial to the Marge Cares Foundation, P.O. Box 155, Glendo, Wyoming 82213, or to the charity that’s close to your heart would be appreciated by the family.  The Marge Cares Foundation helps support families dealing with cancers.
