DR. RICKI LEE LAWRENCE

A celebration of life for Dr. Ricki Lee Lawrence, DVM, 71, will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, April 7, 2026 at his home 551 West Sybille in Guernsey, Wyoming.

Rick Lawrence passed away on Monday, March 30, 2026 at 2:38 A.M. at his home in Guernsey.

Rick was born on Monday, March 7, 1955, at the naval base in Hutchinson, Kansas, to Walter Lee and Carlene Janet (Bornholdt) Lawrence.

Rick grew up in Buffalo, Wyoming, and graduated from Buffalo High School in 1973. During his school years, he was an active member of FFA, where he proudly raised a championship steer. In his younger days, Rick worked on the ranch and participated in rodeo, embracing the western lifestyle he loved. He also followed in his grandfather’s footsteps, becoming an excellent hunter and fisherman.

Rick pursued higher education at the University of Wyoming, completing pre-doctorate work before earning his degree in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Colorado in 1995.

He honorably served in the Army National Guard and was discharged in 2007 with the rank of Captain. During his service, he worked in engineering and earned numerous sharpshooting medals.

In 1997, Rick moved to Guernsey, Wyoming. After helping his parents build their home, he began working for Wyoming Child and Family Development as a property maintenance worker and groundskeeper, where he remained until his retirement in 2020.

Rick was deeply devoted to his family. He provided exceptional care for his father during his battle with cancer and continued to lovingly care for his mother for 19 years after his father’s passing.

Rick is survived by his mother, Carlene “Janet” Lawrence; his sister, Vicki; and his brother, Eric.
