Edward (Ed) Clay Coy, 84, of Douglas, Wyoming, passed on to clearer waters in the comfort of his own home on Friday, November 19, 2021.
Ed was preceded in death by his loving wife, Carol Theresa (Burke) Coy, and is survived by his son, Mark Edward Coy. Ed was a friend to everyone he met.
Ed was born Wednesday, December 9, 1936, in Hamburg, Iowa, graduated high school from Berthoud High School May 12, 1955, in Berthoud, Colorado, and went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in agriculture from the University of Wyoming January 26, 1962, in Laramie, Wyoming.
Ed worked for the United States Forest Service and later the Bureau of Land Management before “retiring” to raise hay near Douglas. Ed enjoyed hunting, fishing, and the camaraderie of the outdoors. He also enjoyed sharing his knowledge and experience of the outdoor sports with anyone who expressed a desire to learn.
A special thank you to the Laramie Peak Humane Society for making sure Ed always had a furry companion. Also, very special thanks to Gorman Funeral Home and Ross Gorman for being so helpful and understanding during this difficult time.
Finally, Ed died peacefully in his own home of natural causes. It was not COVID-19 related!
Funeral services for Edward Clay “Ed” Coy will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, December 4, 2021 at the Gorman Funeral Homes – Converse Chapel in Douglas, Wyoming. Inurnment will be in the Douglas Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Laramie Peak Humane Society, P.O. Box 463, Douglas, Wyoming 82633 would be appreciated by the family.
