ELDINE L. (KROEGER) BOURGEOIS

Eldine LaVerda Bourgeois, 95, of Hartville, Wyoming passed away on Thursday, February 22, 2024 at the Platte County Legacy Home in Wheatland, Wyoming with her daughters by her side.

Eldine was born on Sunday, December 2, 1928, in Hartville the daughter of Herman and Alice (Morgan) Kroeger.  She attended school in Sunrise, Wyoming and graduated as valedictorian in 1946. 

She married her true love, Melvin T. Bourgeois in Wheatland on June 8, 1946.  Eldine was a housewife.  She managed the home and always provided her family with home cooked meals.  She loved family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She loved drinking coffee, the color green, her two dogs, watching LSU football and basketball, and the Saints with Melvin.  Some of her hobbies she enjoyed was reading, especially the Bible, crossword puzzles, playing cards, yahtzee, bingo, and her favorite, scrabble.  In her later years you could find her sitting by the nurses’ station at the Platte County Legacy Home singing.

She is survived by her daughters, Troi Fritzler and Stacey (Doug) Jackson; granddaughters, Melinda (Kevin Crafts) Parrish, Misty (Clay Opbreoek) Eisenbarth, and Tiffany (Doug) Willadson; eight great grandchildren; two great-great grandsons; sisters, Gaylene Zahn and Nadine (Ron) Orszulak; and brother, Lonnie (Twila) Kroeger; sisters-in-law, Karen Kroeger, Annabelle, Joyce, and Sis Bourgeois.

Eldine was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin; daughter, Cheri Parrish; son-in-law, Eldon Parrish; great granddaughter, Amber Eisenbarth; brothers, Paul, George, and Zane Kroeger; and sister, Darlene Smith Wick.

Family graveside services will be held on her wedding anniversary, June 8, 2024 at the Hartville Cemetery.
