A graveside service for Elizabeth Ann "Liz" Bachmeier, 84, was held at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, March 4, 2026 at the Wheatland Cemetery in Wheatland, Wyoming with Deacon Terry Archbold officiating.
Liz Bachmeier passed away on Monday, February 23, 2026 at the Platte County Legacy Home in Wheatland.
Liz Bachmeier was raised and educated in Belle Fourche, South Dakota. She attended Black Hills State College, where she earned her teaching degree in 1967 and later completed her master’s degree. She met Gene Bachmeier at a restaurant, and the two were soon married. Liz began her teaching career in Casper, Wyoming, where she served as head of the business department for 13 years at Kelly Walsh High School. In 1980, Liz and Gene moved to Wheatland. She worked at the local power plant and later at the dental office for Zane Nevins. Liz enjoyed crocheting, knitting, and gardening, especially tending to her roses and flowers. Known for her green thumb, she took great pride in her beautiful gardens. Liz was a wonderful mother and a loyal friend who was loved by many.
She is survived by her son, Bruce Iverson of Wheatland.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elton “Gene” Bachmeier on February 23, 2006 and her parents.
The Gorman Funeral Homes – Platte Chapel of Wheatland are in charge of the arrangements.
