A graveside service for Earl T. “Tate” Graves, 95, will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, September 5, 2023 at the Wheatland Cemetery in Wheatland, Wyoming.
Tate Graves passed away on Thursday, August 24, 2023 at the Platte County Legacy Home in Wheatland.
Tate was born on Thursday, August 16, 1928 in Robertson County, Tennessee the son of Arthel Odell and Myrtle Lynn (Sneed) Graves.
Tate spent most of his life in Wyoming. He voluntarily entered the United State Navy. After he was discharged, he came back to Wheatland and went to work for the standard gas station. He then went into farming from 1960 to 1974 in Wyoming and Colorado. In the 1980’s he moved to Tennessee and did some real estate investing. Tate always found his way back to Wyoming moving here in the late 1990’s.
Tate was a major sports fanatic; he loved all sports and followed them all very closely. He was a Denver Nuggets, Broncos, and Rockies fan.
He is survived by his children, Tim Graves, Tammy (Dan) Berg, Steve (Jillanie) Graves, Craig (Kim) Graves, and Heidi (Paul) Adams all of Wheatland; eight grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and sister, Betty Baker.
He was preceded in death by his son, Tony Graves; siblings, Ben, Ray, Margie, and Dot.
A memorial to the Earl T. Graves Memorial Fund c/o Platte Valley Bank, 200 Sixteenth Street, Wheatland, Wyoming 82201 would be appreciated by the family.
