Erma Jean Allison

A private graveside service for the immediate family of Erma Jean Allison, 96, will be held at 1:30 P.M. on Saturday, November 18, 2023, at the Wheatland Cemetery in Wheatland, Wyoming with Pastor Tony Borton officiating.

Erma Allison was born in Cheyenne, Wyoming on Monday, August 29,1927, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Willott H. Rhoads Sr.

Erma passed away on Saturday, November 4, 2023, at the Platte County Legacy Home in Wheatland.

She attended school in Cheyenne until high school when she moved to Wheatland. Erma worked as a secretary and bank teller after graduation. She married Eldon L, Allison, Sr. and later was divorced. She and her sons moved to Laramie, Wyoming in 1965, where she worked as a secretary for the University of Wyoming Maintenance Department and later as a secretary in the Engineering Department.

Erma Jean attended classes while there as well. She received a bachelor’s degree in languages in 1974. She returned to Wheatland and worked at Wheatland High School teaching French and Spanish. She sponsored several student trips to France and Spain during this time. She enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling, reading, and baking,

She was preceded death by her parents, Willott H. Rhoads, Sr. and Alta Rhoads; sisters, Madge Musselman and Janet Hester; brother, Willott H. Rhoads, Jr.; and son, Eldon L. Allison, Jr.

She is survived by her son, Leslie Allison (Jacki) of Green River, Wyoming; granddaughter, Kelly Allison Pickering (Jeff), and great-grandchildren JJ, Jillian, Jaxten, and Jennavive of Parker, Colorado; grandson, Aaron Allison of Rock Springs; grandson, Jubal Allison (Lorissa) of Rawlins, Wyoming; and grandson, Shane Allison of Falcon, Colorado.
