FRANCES CAROLINE (VERKE) RAPER

No funeral service will be held for Frances Caroline Raper, 83, at this time.

Frances Raper died Saturday, March 6, 2021 at the Memorial Hospital of Converse County in Douglas, Wyoming.

She was born Saturday, December 11, 1937 in Devils Lake, North Dakota to Lloyd and Enid Verke.  She grew up in Churches Ferry, North Dakota.

Frances graduated from Churches Ferry High School in 1955.  In the fall of 1955, she moved to California and worked for Atomics International until 1966 when she and her husband, Richard Raper, moved to the Denver, Colorado area.  She worked for Dow Chemical Company and Atomics International at the Rocky Flats Plant.

Frances and Richard Ray “Dick” Raper were married on September 6, 1958.

In 1976, they moved to Douglas where they had a home building business, Gantre Homes, Inc., and were partners in a cable TV business.  Frances was in charge of the office for these businesses for many years.

She enjoyed traveling and visiting with her siblings in North Dakota and Colorado.

Frances is survived by her brothers, Darwin (LaVon) Verke of Colorado and Robert (Kay) Verke of North Dakota; her sisters, Bonnie (Milton) Rolle and Clarice (Reuben) Liechty both of North Dakota; and many nieces and nephews, who’s lives she followed with much affection.

Frances was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard, on January 3, 2021; and brother, Harlan Verke.

Memorials to the charities of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
