Obituary

Geri L. Riggle died at the Douglas Care Center on Friday, May 5th, 2023 in Douglas, Wyoming after battling the long-term effects of a severe stroke. She passed with her daughter Kaye by her side after all of her six children and other family had a chance to say goodbye.
Geri L. Riggle was born on Monday, June 15th, 1936 in the home of her parents, Leonard Jay Denison & Esther Mildred (Reeves) Denison, in the La Sal Mountains of Utah. She was raised in Utah and attended school in Moab, Utah. Geri gave birth to and raised six children on her own, Gordon, Bryan, Teri, Kaye, Craig, and Johnny. She had a strong work ethic working multiple jobs, nights, and weekends to provide for her family.  Being a single mother was not easy but Geri always worked hard to meet her children's needs. She lived and raised her children in Grand Junction, Colorado. Later in life she remarried William C. Riggle sharing twenty years together before his passing in 2008. Geri was a humble woman who lived a modest life. She moved to Douglas Wyoming in June of 2019 where she finally was able to live a life of leisure and enjoy the retirement she so rightfully deserved. She would spend her days completing jigsaw puzzles, reading, and playing cards.
She enjoyed spending time with her daughter, Kaye, as well as the many friends she made at the apartment building where she lived as well as the Senior Center where she played cards.
Geri is survived by sisters Sally Van Wagner, Kathy Lavato, and Bobbi (Marvin) Day; as well as her six children, Gordon J. Kerns, Bryan G. Kerns, Teri I. (Les) Pallaro, Kaye L Johnson, D. Craig (Jimmy) Kerns, and John L. (Joann) Kerns; seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her father and mother, Leonard J. Denison and Esther M. (Reeves) Stewart; husband, William Riggle; two brothers; a sister; and four nephews.
Geri loved animals and always donated to their care whenever she could do so, please donate to your local animal shelter in lieu of flowers.

The Gorman Funeral Homes – Converse Chapel of Douglas, Wyoming is in charge of the arrangements.
