GLEN WARNER Obituary

Glen Franklin Warner, 80,  passed away peacefully at home in Guernsey on Sunday, March 24, 2024. He was born on Wednesday, February 2, 1944 to Claris and Pearl (Keane) Warner in Fort Laramie, Wyoming. Glen spent all of his childhood in the Guernsey area and graduated from Guernsey High School in 1962. At the age of 15 he started spending his summers and weekends working at the Bromley Sawmill on Laramie Peak. The Bromley family quickly became family to Glen, losing his mother at a young age Maria Bromley became a mother figure to him. He served in the United States Army as a mechanic from 1964 to 1967 spending most of his time in Germany. After his discharge he returned home to Guernsey. He met Cheri Scott in 1968 and they married on June 14, 1969, and raised their three children together. Through their marriage they lived in Riverton, Wyoming while he worked road construction. Glen then took a job with Wyoming Machinery in Cheyenne, Wyoming in 1974 and they lived in Cheyenne until 1976 before moving to Burns, Wyoming where they raised their family until 1991, when they relocated to Guernsey and remained until his death. Glen started working road construction again in 1987 after a couple years of being self-employed, and in 1994 started working at Guernsey Stone where he stayed until 2006 when health issues required him to stop working. Glen was a member of J.J. Webb American Legion #95 and Burns Mason Lodge #41.

Glen was a hard worker and loved his family. He was an amazing husband and father and always there for his family. He shared his mechanical skills with his boys and made sure his daughter could change a tire. He taught his kids to work hard, and family was always first. He would give you the shirt off his back and help anyone out. His grandkids meant the world to him, and he enjoyed taking them to the farm, to the gas station for candy, and then for ice cream all in one trip. He loved to share time at the farm with them, teaching them how to ride the horses, and raise the pigs. He taught them how to drive, change oil and tires on their vehicles so they would never be stranded. His youngest granddaughter he taught to tie her shoes, and always work hard and never give up.

Glen is survived by his wife, Cheri of 54 years; children, Scott (Andrea) Warner from Gordonsville, Tennessee, Tiffany (Larry) Malcom of Cheyenne, and Lyn (Colleen) Warner of Guernsey; sisters, Frances (Merle) Curtis of Guernsey, Belle (Joe) Garner, and Velma Warner of Upton, Wyoming; ten grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Glen is preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Taylor Scott Warner; sister, Joan Lyman; brothers, Kenny and Art Warner; stepbrothers, Joe and Larry Layton; in-laws, Ed and Alice Scott.

A memorial to the Guernsey Senior Citizens Center, P.O. Box 765, Guernsey, Wyoming 82214 would be appreciated by the family.
