A memorial service will be held for Helen Sophie Uhlman, 96, at 4:00 P.M. (Mountain Time) on Saturday, October 25, 2025 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 3422 North College Drive, Cheyenne, Wyoming 82001.
Helen S. Uhlman, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend passed away Monday, September 8, 2025 at the Memorial Hospital of Converse County in Douglas, Wyoming.
Helen was born Tuesday, November 27, 1928 in Rock Springs, Wyoming to Claude Clifford Miller and Sophie Amelia (Graefe) Miller.
They lived in Winton, Wyoming moving to Wheatland, Wyoming, and then to a ranch on Willow Creek outside of Lander, Wyoming in 1933. She graduated from Fremont County Valley High School in Lander in May 1947. She attended a business school in Denver, Colorado.
Helen married Kenneth Edward Uhlman on April 4, 1950. She was baptized August 3, 1950 at Yankee Stadium as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. She moved to Cheyenne in 1953 and spent most of her time there except when visiting her children and grandchildren or traveling the world.
What was most important to her was her faith. Other areas of her life which she deeply valued were family, her friends, and of course, her travel. She loved to travel and was blessed with getting to go to many parts of the world with special friends and acquiring many new ones – being on six continents and seeing all seven visiting over 50 countries. She will be deeply missed, until we can welcome her back into the New World to come.
She is survived by her son, Kenneth Glenn Uhlman; her daughters, Carol (Cotton) Meyer and Deborah Uhlman; and grandchildren, Jeremiah and Ashley Meyer, Jonathan and Shantelle Meyer.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edward, in 1982; and her sister, Amelia (Miller) Miller.
The Gorman Funeral Homes-Converse Chapel of Douglas, Wyoming assisted with the arrangements.
