Jacqueline Lee Garnica, 55, a cherished mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on Sunday, July 7, 2024, in her hometown of Douglas, Wyoming, after a long and brave battle with COPD. Born on Saturday, March 8, 1969, Jacqueline's life was a testament to love, resilience, and unwavering faith.
Preceded in death by her loving mother, Mina Jean (Heinrich) Bankes, on May 28, 2002, her beloved son, Kristopher Garnica, May 15, 1987 and her beloved husband, Kris Garnica January 25, 2018,
Jacqueline leaves behind a legacy of compassion and devotion. She is survived by her children, Sara Garnica, Keiphre Garnica, Sierra Garnica, Sarina Garnica, Kris Garnica, Salina Garnica, and Jaci Garnica; her adored grandchildren, Aurora, Azriel, Aria, Kruz, Lilah, and Malaynah; her siblings, Bob Shaw, Tavonia Wintermote, and Donny Shaw, also mourn her passing and will forever remember her for her kindness and warmth.
Jacqueline's roots run deep in Douglas, where she attended high school and met her husband, Kris, when they were next-door neighbors. Their relationship was marked by deep love and admiration, enduring through both joyous and challenging times. Their bond grew stronger as they navigated life's difficulties, leaving this world still loving each other deeply.
One of Jacqueline's favorite pastimes was gathering her children and enjoying coffee with her mother or sister at the Plains Trading Post Restaurant. These moments of togetherness were filled with laughter and love, creating memories that her family will cherish forever.
Even as her illness progressed, Jacqueline's home remained a warm and inviting place, reflecting the immense love she had for her family. Her beauty, kindness, and giving heart touched everyone who visited, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew her.
Jacqueline's life was centered around her family. Her children and grandchildren were her greatest joy, and she dedicated herself to their happiness and well-being. Her deep faith in God provided her with strength and comfort, especially as her illness advanced. Her devotion was a source of inspiration to all who knew her, embodying grace and resilience in the face of adversity.
To honor Jacqueline's memory, a celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, July 20th, 2024 at 1:00 P.M. at Gorman Funeral Homes – Converse Chapel in Douglas.
Honorary pallbearers include Kris Garnica, Keiphre Garnica, Bob Shaw, Donny Shaw, Chad Wintermote, Brian Shaw, Blaize Shaw, Azriel Garnica Cole, Hoot Gibson, and Joey Madsen.
Following the service, friends and family are invited to gather for refreshments at the Plains Trading Post Dance Hall to share stories and remember the extraordinary woman Jacqueline was.
Jacqueline Garnica's legacy of love, faith, and kindness will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
