JAMES DePIETRO Obituary

Funeral services for James Richard DePietro, 88, will be held at 3:00 P.M. Saturday, June 18, 2022 at the Gorman Funeral Homes – Converse Chapel in Douglas, Wyoming with Pastor Bill Williamson of First Baptist Church in Douglas officiating.  Inurnment will be in the Douglas Park Cemetery with military honors accorded by the Samuel Mares American Legion Post #8 and United States Air Force Funeral Honors.

James DePietro died Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at the Douglas Care Center in Douglas.

James was born Thursday, May 3, 1934 in Havertown, Pennsylvania the son of James and Maria Theresa (Cianfrani) DePietro.

Right after high school James went into the United States Air Force for four years. On January 4, 1964 he married the love of his life Julia Beard Quigley in Pottstown, Pennsylvania. He worked for Delmont Construction as a heavy equipment operator. James and Julia moved to Douglas in 1973 where he changed his career and became part owner in Jackalope Gun Shop. After retiring from running heavy equipment, he worked at the Douglas Community Golf Course Pro Shop for 11 years.  

James is survived by his sons, James Michael (Kyla) DePietro of Douglas and Richard Paul (Cindy) DePietro of Boyertown, Pennsylvania; sisters, Madeline “Dolly” (Bill) Meehan and Maria (Jack) Reese both of Douglas; grandchildren, Jaise DePietro, Serena (Shawn) Tays, John DePietro, Matthew DePietro, Derek (Kristi) Bohlander, Shane Bohlander, Crystal (Erik) Alberts, Brady Mangus, and Chase Mangus; and great grandchildren, Nora and Austin Bohlander, Brayden and Rylie Alberts, and Josh and Hayden Tays.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Julia Beard DePietro, on September 3, 2018; daughter, Theresa Marie Mangus, on June 6, 2008; brother, Dennis DePietro, on February 14, 2016; and grandson, Kevin Alberts on February 21, 2005.

The Gorman Funeral Homes – Converse Chapel of Douglas, Wyoming is in charge of the arrangements.
