A funeral service for James Lee “Jim” McDaniel, 64, will be at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, February 24, 2024 at the First Christian Church in Wheatland, Wyoming with Pastor Casey Schroder officiating.
Jim McDaniel passed away on Wednesday, February 6, 2024 at his home in Wheatland. Jim has suffered with poor health for several years.
Jim was the oldest of four brothers born to JoAnne Keys and Melvin McDaniel in Scottsbluff, Nebraska on Monday, August 3, 1959.
Jim was an avid Nebraska Cornhusker fan, loved eating Mexican food at various restaurants in western Nebraska, and loved all animals. He enjoyed spending time with family, especially his nieces and nephews. He held a special place in his heart for his good friends, Jeff and Russ. Jim graduated from Bayard High School in 1977 and was a member of First Christian Church.
Jim is survived by his mother, JoAnne Keys; brothers, Joel McDaniel and John (Amanda) McDaniel all of Wheatland; sister-in-law, Veronica McDaniel of Scottsbluff; seven nieces, and five nephews.
Jim was preceded in death by his father, Melvin McDaniel; step-father, Albert Keys; brother, Jerry McDaniel; grandparents, Clyde and Opal Hubbard and John and Ethel McDaniel.
The Gorman Funeral Homes – Platte Chapel of Wheatland are in charge of the arrangements.
